CITY TOUR + PEDESTRIAN MONASTERY

• 🕐 14:00 pm – We begin our visit in San Lazaro, it is the oldest neighborhood in the city with beautiful narrow streets and houses of Sillar, we continue through the Plaza and Church of San Francisco, make up one of the most beautiful buildings in the city.
• We will visit the Casona Tristan del Pozo, with a beautiful architecture, being the best exponent of the typical ornamentation of Arequipa.
• We continue through the Plaza de Armas where a detailed explanation of the history of the Cathedral, we will be able to appreciate the bronze fountain and the portals that surround the square.
• We will go to the Church of the Company of Jesus where we will see the dome and the interior of the temple where you can see the carved wooden altarpieces covered with gold bread.
• Then we will visit the Cloisters of the Society of Jesus, it is the only building that preserved as in colonial times.
• We will visit the traditional neighborhood of El Solar and “Tambo El Matadero”, places where developed various commercial activities, the famous barter of products from the coast and from the Sierra.
• We end with a visit to the Monastery of Santa Catalina, an authentic jewel of the Colonial architecture from the 16th century, which housed hundreds of nuns. With their small streets and cloisters full of colorful flowers and the walls painted in dyes fresh.
• The narrow alleys lead you to the various parts of the convent that they cross picturesque sites that revive the path of time.

•  This tour is available just in the afternoon (14:00 pm) for shared service.
• For private service it could be in the morning (9:00 am) or afternoon (14:00 pm). 
• The Monastery is open from 09:00 a.m. to 17:00 p.m. The Monastery is closed to the public, on Easter Time (Friday), December 25th and January 1st.
